Sigiriya murals that amazed the world

Sigiriya Rock, considered to be the 8th 
wonder of the world, is one of the fascinadoras destinations in the map of the tourist of the world. The peculiarity of the Sigiriya murals is that they depict only nude figures above the waist of

 Sukumala Lalanawa, who is slightly smaller than a human. A special feature of the paintings

 is the use of materials that are common in the dry zone.The four main colors used to paint

Sigiriya are red, yellow, green, and black. A special feature is that the color blue is not

used.The cave is about 60 feet long, with paintings about 44 feet above the mirror wall. The

rough wall is smoothed using a special plaster for painting.. Archaeologist Ananda

Coomaraswamy points out that Divul Latu, spider clay, honey and lime were used to make

the mortar.Herbal juices such as Gokatu Kiri and Ranawara were used in the production of dyes. Also, the

brushes for painting are made of hedgehog fibers. A special feature of the Sigiriya murals is the use of wet plaster technology and dry plaster technology.
